I was travelling to Cape town with my parents to watch One Republic in concert. We stayed in an apartment in Bo Kaap. Bo-Kaap is an area of Cape Town, formerly known as the Malay Quarter. It is a former racially segregated area, situated on the slopes of Signal Hill above the city centre and is a historical centre of Cape Malay culture in Cape Town. The colours, people, cats and chanting from the historic Nurul Islam Mosque (about 1 block from our flat), inspired this, my first music video. The quiet calm, mixed with the frantic heavy solos of Polyphia’s – F**k around and find out, fitted perfectly with the community of contrast that is Bo-Kaap
